How much does a place in a daycare cost ?

KidsCare is a network of private daycares located in several Swiss cantons. Our daycares offer your children a bilingual immersion environment (French-English or French-German). Find out more about our educational approach and the cost of a place in our daycares.

The cost of a place in a private daycare

The price of a place in a public daycare depends on the number of children in the family and the family's income. Based on this information, a calculation is made to determine how much the place will cost. A minimum rate will be offered to the family.

The calculation of the price of a place for your child in one of our private daycares is different from that of a place in a public daycare centre. It depends on your monthly childcare needs. The amount will be calculated according to the number of days your child is in childcare.

Depending on where you live, you may be eligible for municipal or even cantonal subsidies (Fribourg & Bern). You may also be eligible for financial assistance by deducting your childcare costs from your income tax, subject to certain conditions. You will need to attach your childcare payment certificate to your tax return. Tax credits and partial coverage of costs by the local authority or canton of residence enable parents to reduce the cost of childcare.

Details of the price per daycare

Rates may vary from one daycare to another. You will always find details of the daily rate on the last page of the daycare centre's Operating Regulations. These are posted online and updated directly on each daycare's page. We offer different types of contracts, which you can find here.

What is included in the price of your daycare place?

For the cost of your daycare place, you benefit from numerous services in addition to childcare, thanks to our ‘All Inclusive’ concept. Your fee includes the list of supplies needed for care (organic nappies, nappy cream), meals and organic powdered milk, as well as the costs of running the facility (replacement of toys, cleaning, workshop materials, etc.), but above all, all the activities organised for your child during the day. These may include a trip to a museum, a visit to the library or an actress coming to the daycare to put on a show for the children.

Our teaching approach at a glance

Our daycares offer bilingual care (French/ German - English) based on the Montessori, Pikler and Reggio Emilia teaching methods. This allows your children to develop at their own pace, in line with their stage of development. Each child is treated as an individual and cared for with kindness. We encourage motor skills and free play within our childcare facilities to give children free rein to explore and gradually develop their independence.
